Snow and sea ice properties across scales

Keywords: ICE, ECO

Sessions 11 - Short Summary

This session welcomes studies on the thermodynamic and dynamic properties and processes of the Arctic sea ice cover. Topics include but are not limited to: snow on sea ice, mechanisms that modify the sea ice thickness distribution, sea ice melt processes, and surface characteristics such as roughness and albedo. Investigations that bridge spatio-temporal scales, examine seasonal transitions, make use of both observations and modeling, and/or have ecosystem linkages are particularly encouraged.
