Advances in understanding of Arctic amplification processes and feedbacks

Session 02 - Short Summary

The last decade has seen a significant number of expeditions and field campaigns. The question remains, what we have learned from these campaigns in terms of process understanding of Arctic amplification. To discuss this question, this session invites contributions using field observations as well as corresponding model results and complementary data sets to advance our understanding of Arctic amplification processes. This includes studies of local feedbacks (surface albedo, cloud, and lapse rate) and remote processes (moisture intrusions and heat transports). The presentations should focus on linking process understanding to model uncertainty in projects of Arctic amplification.
